SPAN 370 - FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING METHODS

This course is designed to provide future foreign language teachers with a firm base in language learning theory as well as practical teaching techniques for language learner PreK through 12. During the theoretical portion of this course, students will read and discuss topics related to first language acquisition and its relationship to second language learning. The remainder of the course will be devoted to the application of language learning theory to practice through peer and public classroom teaching. Students will also develop skills in explaining the benefits of foreign language both orally and in writing to a variety of audiences.
