EDUC 662 - Children’s Literature in a Comprehensive Reading Program

Hours: 4
Through extensive reading and library research, students will develop a knowledge base for selecting culturally inclusive and developmentally appropriate childrenﾒs literature. Students will read and study the genres of childrenﾒs literature, learn to recognize bias and stereotyping in literature, select childrenﾒs literature that promotes equity and representation, and learn student-centered practices for utilizing literature in a classroom.
