INST 2206 - Buddhism

Hours: 3
Introduction to the academic study of Buddhism using multiple disciplinary approaches. Topics may include questions related to social inequality, environmental destruction, authority, nationalism, interethnic conflict, war and violence, economic globalization, and material culture from the Buddhisms of South, Southeast, and East Asia and beyond. Emphasizing the connections between Buddhist ethical norms and action in the world. Reflecting on our own internalized ethical norms and how those are reflected in our actions.
