EDUC 6882 - Representations in Mathematics Education

What is a representation? Although our quick answer might be something like, “A representation is a graph of an equation,” in this course we will broaden the scope. In fact, representation is central to the learning and use of all mathematics. This course provides an opportunity to explore how students create and use representations to organize, record, model, interpret, transform and translate mathematical ideas.
