Liberal Studies in Accounting (BA)

Total required hours: 128

This degree completion major is for adult students who have already completed 64 semester hours of credit. It is designed for students looking to integrate the skills, knowledge, and values of a broad academic program and apply them to the challenges of the workplace. Students will learn, integrate and apply a range of perspectives and decision-making models as they strive to advance their careers. Students will learn that success in the workplace and in their personal lives depends on their ability to create and apply solutions based on their thinking across academic disciplines.

I. General Education Requirements


  • Transition Year Seminar (4 hrs)
  • Integrative Studies Interdisciplanary Dyad (8 hrs)
  • Language and Culture (4 hrs)
  • Mathematics (4 hrs)
    Note: This major requires MATH 1240 .
  • Senior Year Experience (4 hrs)

III. Residency Requirements


At least 52 hours must be earned in an Otterbein classroom.

 

IV. Required Total Hours for the Degree (128 hrs)


If the coursework taken to fulfill the General Education Requirements and the requirements in your major do not equal 128 hours, select a sufficient number of electives to achieve that total. 

 

V. Minimum GPA Overall and in the Major


A GPA of 2.0 overall as well as in the major must be achieved. To be licensed to teach, a GPA of 2.5 overall must be achieved.

VI. Application for Degree


A prospective graduate must complete an Application for Degree at the Registrar’s Office two terms prior to the term in which the degree is to be completed.
