INST 3025 - The Search for the Sublime: Music, Art and Literature of 19th Century Romanticism

Hours: 3
Through an integrative, cross-disciplinary study of the music, literature and art from the period, the student will develop a deep understanding of the core values and visionary principles that shaped this revolutionary movement and the profound impact it had on our modern notions of freedom, nature, the public good, identity, and the sanctity of the individual.
Prerequisites: Jr standing or above, and a minimum of one course from at least four of the following INST threads: 2000, 2200, 2400, 2600, and 2800. Not open to students with credit for any INST 3000-level course.
