EDUC 1700 - Phonics and Language Study: Primary Education

Grounded in the science of reading research this course explores developmental patterns in first and second language acquisition, phonemic awareness, and phonics knowledge. Teachers learn to assess children’s understanding in these three domains and use data to design instruction that supports and extends children’s learning in the context of a comprehensive and differentiated primary literacy program.
