INST 3015 - Growth and Development in Africa

Hours: 3
Through an international travel experience to selected African countries, learning about the challenges local communities face as they confront aspects of growth and development. Engaging with local residents who have developed projects that address issues related to health care, environment, and education. Led by faculty who have interests in biology and plant life, religion and cultures, communication and the work of NGOs, this life-changing and life-affirming course will encourage students to consult and collaborate with local hosts in advance of international travel and develop or support locally sustainable projects.
Prerequisites: Junior standing or above, and a minimum of one course from at least four of the following INST threads: 2000, 2200, 2400, 2600, and 2800.
