Hours: 4
The psychology of sport is the study of the interaction between psychological variables and performance in sports and physical activity. Because the multifaceted field continues to evolve, it assumes many of its theories and concepts from general, social, personality, and positive psychology as well as exercise physiology and sport sociology. This introductory course is ideal for students who wish to work in sports or with athletes in some capacity. This course is designed to introduce students with either research or applied interests to (a) the interdisciplinary field of sport psychology, (b) the prevalent theories and concepts within the discipline, and (c) practical applications to the sport and Sport Management.
