SYE 4012 - High Stakes: The 2016 Presidential Election

The proposed course is designed to educate students on the social and political correlates of the presidential election process, focusing on the presidential election in November 2016. Special topics will include voting behaviors, the role of PACs and special interest groups, political advertising, and the Electoral College. Because the election takes place before the end of the semester, students will have an opportunity to also analyze the outcomes of the elections in terms of the above topics as well. Students will also get hands on experience by working at polling places or volunteering with campaigns of their choice.
