MUSC 3082 - Instrumental Pedagogy and Literature

This course is designed to meet the needs of students desiring a career in instrumental performance and/or studio teaching. Students will gain a basic knowledge of the literature encountered in studio teaching. This course will emphasize the practical aspects of running a studio and managing a career as a free-lance musician.  Additionally, students will concentrate on the development and refinement of repertoire and pedagogy for students of all ages relevant to their major instrument.  Organizational skills and details regarding management of a successful music studio will also be addressed.
Prerequisites: One year of applied instrumental study or permission of instructor.
