HLED 4000 - Health Education Methods

Hours: 4
This course focuses on Daily Lesson and Unit Planning in Health Education, National Health Education Standards, Teaching of Health Education Activities, Critical Teaching Elements, Assessment, Technology Integration and Classroom Management. This course is a combination lecture and field experience. Students will be placed at the Middle or High School setting, while non-licensure students will be placed in a community setting. Students will be required to implement health education lessons and solo teach at least 1 week. (50 hr. field exp.) Students will also have class discussions on policies and practices in an urban school setting.
Prerequisites: Junior status.
Notes: 50 Hour Field Experience required. This course has an additional fee.
