CHEM 1910 - Advanced General Chemistry I and II, Lecture and Lab

Hours: 4 Fall Semester; 4 January Term
The Fall Semester course introduces basic concepts of chemistry to students majoring in science. Emphasis on problem solving and developing scientific thought processes. Course content includes atomic properties, stoichiometry, thermochemistry, aqueous reactions, gas laws, the structure of atoms and molecules, chemical bonding, intermolecular forces, and kinetics.

The January Term course introduces basic concepts of chemistry to students majoring in science. Emphasis on problem solving and developing scientific thought processes. Course content includes equilibrium, acid-base chemistry, thermochemistry, and electrochemistry.
Prerequisites: Fall Semester course: One year of high school chemistry and ACT score of 27. Coreq: MATH 1250.

Prerequisites: January Term course: Advanced General Chemistry I (with a grade of C- or better). Note: This two-course sequence is a substitute for CHEM 1800/1810.
