BIO 3040 - Animal Nutrition

Hours: 4

This course is designed to help students learn about animal nutrition from a physiological ecology perspective.  Topic covered by this course will include digestive anatomy and physiology, the biochemistry of food, intake and utilization efficiency, digestive symbionts, postabsorptive nutrient processing, and energy budgets. The course involves a comparative approach that considers a diverse array of taxa.
Prerequisites: BIO 2010 and 2020.
