HPES 1005 - Dance Fitness

Dance Fitness is a high energy workout beginning with an injury prevention warmup. Exercises are designed to strengthen and protect the ankles, hips, knees and spine with a focus on postural alignment, and having fun with the music. Cool down finishes with Dance and Yoga stretching. No previous experience required! It is based on Jon Devlin’s acclaimed Dancercise system which opened its doors in Manhattan in 1967. Dancercise was on the cutting edge of the exercise explosion and combined techniques drawn from a variety of east/west systems including: Dance, Yoga, Tai-chi, Pilates and Bartenieff Movement Fundamentals. Through constant media publicity, it attracted international attention and was introduced in Japan in 1984.
