ART 1910 - Paper Engineering: Books and Other Objects

While much of the public associates pop-ups with child-like themes, the art of paper engineering has actually existed since the early 15th century as an instructional tool in the areas of science and anatomy. Students will learn various moveable/pop-up techniques to create multi-dimensional forms such as greeting cards, pop-up books, and quality works of fine art. Students will also research the history of paper engineering and its contribution to society. Open to art majors and art minors only.
Prerequisites: One foundational course required (ART 1050 or 1100 or 1150)
